Join NSC and thousands of organizations nationwide in celebrating National Safety Month.
In 1996, the National Safety Council established June as National Safety Month, aiming to increase awareness of the leading safety and health risks and ultimately decrease the number of unintentional injuries and deaths in the United States.
The goal of National Safety Month is to raise public awareness of safety. June also is an appropriate month to focus our efforts on public safety, as the summer season traditionally is a time of increased unintentional injuries and fatalities, and the U.S. is still facing an unprecedented threat to public safety as the pandemic looms on.
Throughout the month, the National Safety Council and the Utah Safety Council aim to collaborate with public and private groups to promote improved standards of safety and broadly distribute information on how everyone can take a leadership role in safety. This year, we will be focusing on the important topics of risk identification, ongoing COVID-19 safety concerns, psychological safety and advancing organizational safety.
