Safety Training Methods - Web-Based is a four-day course that focuses on the knowledge and skills required to assess your training needs, as well as plan, organize, create, and deliver performance-based safety and health training programs. While emphasis is on developing and delivering instructor-lead/classroom training, you'll become acquainted with other instructional methods and media used to effectively train employees on safety and health issues. Safety Training Methods meets ANSI Standard Z490.1 criteria for accepted practices in safety, health and environmental training. This one course covers all the issues you’ll likely face as the person responsible for safety training in your organization.

**Please have participants come prepared with a safety issue they're having at work in mind.  Attendees will learn how to solve part of their issue and will develop a 10 minute presentation on it

During this course participants will:

  • Plan and design a training program applicable to your work environment
  • Learn strategies and methods that address adult learning needs
  • Complete a training needs analysis
  • Identify training and non-training solutions for safety and health case studies
  • Calculate direct and indirect training costs
  • Discuss safety and health training issues with other safety professionals

What you will learn:

  • The four basic needs among adult learners
  • Five phases of the performance-based training process
  • The ABCs of learning objectives and how to evaluate learning progress
  • Designing and developing a short training project for you safety or health setting
  • Selecting, designing and using media
  • Calculating direct and indirect training costs
  • Identifying training and non-training solutions for safety and health issues in your workplace
  • Facilitation skills to manage a challenging audience and make training meaningful
